Professional Experience
Marcel is a member of the Corporate & Securities practice at Becker & Poliakoff, and concentrates on a wide range of corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate counseling, especially cross-border transactions and investments in or from Latin America. Marcel advises clients on Brazilian Law in any corporate matter, as well as international investment planning, contracts, tax efficient structures and compliance with government agencies regulation in Brazil. Being a Brazilian, Marcel understands the business culture and investment environment in Brazil and Latin America, being able to help clients build relationships in those countries, with a sound and complete advisory that goes beyond legal counseling.
Prior to joining Becker & Poliakoff, Marcel was the founding and managing shareholder of a Brazilian law firm, and was the coordinator of the Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Departments. Also, Marcel worked at the Economic Department of the Brazilian Embassy in Washington D.C.
